Best Specialty Coffee in Amsterdam Centrum

Amsterdam's historic core has the most specialty coffee on paper — fourteen-plus verified spots — but it's also where the tourist-trap ratio is highest, so the genuinely good places tend to sit a canal or two back from the postcard streets. The Jordaan corner of Centrum rewards wandering off Prinsengracht: roasteries like Bocca and Drupa have quietly built reputations here over years, largely on local trade rather than passing foot traffic. Expect narrow, characterful rooms rather than open-plan seating — space is at a premium this close to the canal belt — and a real split between places built for a fast, excellent espresso and places built to linger over a batch brew.
