Best Restaurants in Amsterdam Noord

Noord is the one district you reach by ferry, and its restaurant scene leans fully into that — this is industrial and workshop space turned dining room, not a polished canal-belt strip. Rein op 't Root runs an entire ecosystem on the Gedempt Hamerkanaal alone: Europizza's unpretentious pizzeria sits doors from Restaurant Europa, his 18-seat tasting counter. Corner Store built a no-reservations, natural-wine-led room around a striking lighting installation, and Barracuda's self-service fish restaurant lets the previous day's catch decide the menu. Café Modern serves its weekly-changing menu inside a former bank, vault still visible downstairs, and Klaproos turns a waterside dock into a wood-fired pizza-and-pasta bar with a disco ball over the counter and DJs on weekend nights. Expect a younger, less touristed scene than the canal belt, and genuinely inventive formats you won't find repeated south of the IJ.
